Quick discharge for upper wing tanks.

The ballast water from the upper wing tanks can be discharged overboard without having to go through the engine room. On the photo on the left it is the smaller of the two pipes. The left photo shows the overboard discharge.

The left photo shows the deck arrangement for opening the valve, and on the right is the assembly before it is fitted.
     
This is the valve that is fitted to the upper wing tank and is operated from the assemby above and is connected by a round stainless steel bar.

On the right is one of the two main ballast pumps taken when the stern unit was being fitted out.
