I sailed on the Indian City under Captain Murray as a deck cadet. I did have a CCCP tie however its long lost but I do retain many happy memories of that voyage. Captain Murray was a very memorable character who (paraphrasing his own words) forged his career 'when the ships were made of wood and the men were made of steel'. I was very sorry to read of his passing as he was a great man and I remain proud to have known him.
