It has been proposed for some time, that we add the RSL WW2 casualties to the WebPages in a similar way to which the WW1 losses have been added. However, for now, we will be placing, from time to time, details of some of the losses here on the Forum. Below, are details of the Admiralty Report of the loss of the Vernon City, originally classified, but now open source, and we are indebted to member Willie Davies for his copy of this account. It will be noted that the Master of the Vernon City was Capt.Louttit, who was also described in our narrative of the loss of the Bradford City. His telling words at the end of his statement, is a testimony to what so many Merchant seamen went through during those terrible six years.
