I am still in Bandon but remain a (blow in). Ernie was the first Chief Engineer I sailed with on my first trip on the King City. We got on fine but I tkink he liked to see how far he could go to get someone annoyed.I remember the time some lube oil spilled from the middle platform and dripped into the main engine tacho. I removed the glass and was carefully cleaning the face, Ernie came up behind me and said "wiping off the numbers are you"
I finished my time at sea on the car carriers Wilkawa, Chioda and Indian. I left in July 1972.
I then worked for a Swedish health care company untill I retired.
