Chris Anderson

In Feb 1971 I Joined Chiyoda (Pete Burroughs) as junior engineer, followed by Prince Rupert City (Charlie Boyer who I met years later on a flight to Genoa and Mike Jones as Mate).
I left for a couple of years, working for Athel Tankers and doing some Sea Going Maintenance before re-joining Gela(Danny John & Geoff Garlick) in 1974 followed by Elena(DLG Jones), Amparo(DLG Jones), Welsh City (Pielstick version George Ellerby, Jeff Birrel) which we took to Newcastle for sale, Welsh City (Doxford version, maiden voyage DLG Jones), Orient City(maiden voyage Charlie Boyer) and finally Atlantic(J Kalnins).
I think this info is correct as I don’t have any documents to confirm so it’s all memory!
I Joined KOTC (Kuwait Oil Tankers) of Kuwait and stayed with them for 8 years mostly on LPG vessels until a rocket attack during the Iran / Iraq war convinced me to leave, did a couple of ships with Tim Lawson, a short stint with Maersk IOM before finally settling with Worldwide Shipping of Hong Kong later to be rebranded BW Shipping after acquiring Bergesens of Oslo, where I have been for the last 20 years. My present role is as Training Superintendent (10 years) in the Marine Department traveling a great deal to visit vessels for internal ISM/ISO/ISPS audits and on board safety training. I am based in Singapore but have been living in the Philippines for the past four years.
I am divorced now after 26 years with 2 grown up children and try to visit the UK annually.
