Nick Winnington
I joined RSL in 1965 as deck apprentice on Queen City in Birkenhead.Sold to the Greeks 12 months later. Then joined Cardiff City For 11 months and finally Eastern City which I paid off in Goa ln 1969. The Mate on Queen City (I forget his name) called me Oscar which stuck with me on all 3 ships.
I finished my apprenticeship and left the sea I have been in the licenced trade for nearly 40 years now and at present have a pub on the edge of Cambridge The Waggon and Horses in Milton.
